Lightbulb How Is paper processed?

Salam to all,
Paper is made of millions of tiny fibres. The fibres are cellulose,a substance from the cel walls of plants..The cellulose used in paper is mostly comes from trees.
When the bark of tree log has been stripped off,the wood is ready to be turned into pulp.Pulping is done either by grinding up the wood or by cooking it with the chemicals...Some method use both grindind and cooking.
The wood pupl is then screened and washed to clean out impurities and chemicals. It may be then bleached up to make the paper whiter.so printing and writing shows better on it....
In the next step, the pulp is beaten in the large mixing machine and mixed with water. The beating fratys the fibres, which help them mat together.Starch, clay and other materials added to improve the surface of the paper for printing and writing...
The pulp then goes into machine called a jordan refiner...where the fibres trimmed evenly. At this stage the pulp consist of 99%water and 1% fibre. It is now ready to go into paper making machine...In this machine water drained out from the pulp through pumps and screen..The screen vibrates to make the fibres interlock and mat together..The wet mat then passed under a roller that presses it down into smoother sheet.
Then the sheet goes through a series of pressing roles, which squeeze out the water and make the paper smooth.then it travels through a series of heated drums called driers,(at this time the coating can be made to make paper more smooth)and at last cut to desired width.......

Regards to all,
UK

PLEASE STOP WASTING PAPER

* In prehistoric times, 60% of the earth's surface was covered by forests - today that amount has been reduced by 30% and is still shrinking.

* It takes 17 pulpwood market-sized trees to make a ton of paper, or one tree makes about 11,500 pages of 8.5 x 11 20-pound paper.

* Each one million pages of paper not printed saves 85 pulp trees.

* To produce one trillion pages of paper takes 8.5 million acres of trees, representing an area larger than the country of Belgium or the state of Maryland.

* It takes 390 gallons of oil to produce a ton of paper.

* That ton of paper, when disposed of, takes up nearly 8 cubic feet of public landfill space.

* That public landfill is approximately 36% waste paper products.

varun is correct...but in many countries, a significant amount of paper is now recycled...
